Friday, April 26, 2002 17:17 Had this really nice soothing dream last night; a couple was visiting me or we were travelling together; the guy of the couple had programmed or brought along hundreds and hundreds of these little stick-like things that were animated or alive and behaved like a little crowd or army, all very obedient and sweet. Like floating matches but a bit thicker and definitely robotic in nature. They would parade, hovering above the floor in a long, wavy line and approach my face and smile or kiss my cheek. They were meant to do this, it was nice and next door in the next room the couple was sleeping. link

16:45 Hi there. Long time huh. Busy. Ok now let me complain only once about all the people who nag that webloggers are egocentric etc etc. Stop nagging will you? It's a journal-thing: it's supposed to be about the person who writes. Why is it public then? That's because it's also a web thing. See? Half-public, half-private. It's definitely interesting for the person who writes and, remember, you can always go do something else if it annoys you that much. That said, here's a (very funny) comment to Caterina's latest entry written by some nagging lurker: hello, link

Monday, April 15, 2002 13:35 Back from a really nice weekend in Maastricht at the design Recast symposium organized by the Jan van Eyck Academy. The mix of people was good. The talking was good and the eating was good and there were some good new aquaintances. All good. ![]() Caterina and Stewart - in the jetlagged flesh. link

Saturday, April 06, 2002 20:37 Following Richie and Paul (who had their first complaints last week), my own hayfever season started yesterday and I'm all sniffly and zonked from the allergy medicine. It feels to me like some sort of evil irony: there goes the bad miserable weather, here comes the itchy eyes and drowsy days. This will be my third hayfever year. link

Friday, April 05, 2002 17:26 Pierre Derks (who has the rare skill of embedding humor into anything he creates) has made this quick self-portrait– looking some good thirty years older – as a study for the new assignment I proposed. ![]() Pierre is one of my students at the HKA in Arnhem. link

17:22 More add-ons: Catching up with my pool of people backlog. Just added an extra Assumpção (my mom, age 70) Euclydes, Fernanda, João Iggersheimer, Luis Edmundo, Mariana, Patricia, Paulo, Ronaldo (mosty pics taken in Brazil last year). Thinking of scalability issues, removal policies, and discussing with Fred the best way to include some fun filters (living / dead / family / Brazilians / Dutch). link
